Overview
The importance of design in healthcare has long been recognized, with its impact particularly felt in patient and professional communication, usability, education, space design, and product development. A recent survey of healthcare professionals in Qatar revealed a variety of perceptions around design and a subset of respondents who are actively considering design in their work.
Much of the literature in healthcare recognizes the importance of design in a practical sense through the use of design processes and tools to create visuals, but it does not explore in depth the skill set required to both develop and understand visuals.
